Camp Rewrite 2024! Here's the Lineup!
Announcements and our summer calendar of professional development!
Welcome! We are excited you’re here to check out Camp Rewrite 2024, our second year offering nine weeks of professional development to teachers who are excited to revise their thinking about reading and writing instruction!
Here’s How It Works:
Each week, one of our camp counselors will act as host, offering a recorded professional development session, a chat with a special guest who is a leading voice in the ELA/English world, and space to chat and share resources among campers. There will also be special added treats along the way! Everything is recorded to meet the needs of your summer schedule!
Welcome Our New Counselor:
We are thrilled to welcome Xochitl Bentley this year as a new counselor! You are going to LOVE her.
Xochitl Bentley is a high school English teacher and NBCT at Cleveland Charter High School in the Los Angeles Unified School District. She is a Co-Director of the CSUN Writing Project and a contributing writer at Moving Writers. Her writing has appeared in Oregon English Journal, California English, Newsela, and the NCTE blog. Xochitl’s first book on climate stewardship is slated for publication with Routledge Eye on Education in the fall of 2025.

One of the beauties of Camp Rewrite is that it is designed to meet your interests and schedule over the summer. Dip in when you can. Everything is recorded when you can’t be there live! Catch up on other content later. And access everything here for the next year!
We’re excited to share our summer schedule with you!
Scholarships, group discounts, and site licenses are available! Reach out to Rebekah at movingwriters@gmail.com for details about any of these!
Hello Rebekah,
I have tried to register and there is an issue with the ability to do so. Is there an option for just the summer camp? I would like to attend that, but not the whole year and free access. Would I mark none in that instance?
I’m registered and looking forward to this! In my school, we earn points for PD, but in order to be eligible, I need documentation that specifies the number of hours—approximate length of each video, suggested work time, etc. Attaching the “Here’s how it works” post with the dated list of offerings was not enough, as my request has been rejected.
So, could you put down in writing the anticipated hours for each week?
Thank you!
